Philip Morris International

The client.

Philip Morris International is a leading global tobacco company with headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. They have a diverse workforce of approximately 82,700 people from around the world.

Our client envisioned a unique storage solution that would combine traditional-sized lockers with taller storage units, accessible via either an employee building entry card or a mobile phone app. This versatile access system would not only benefit staff permanently based in London but also provide an ideal solution for international visitors.

The project.

We successfully installed over 550 of our award-winning Simplicity smart lockers with a modern and stylish Grey PerfectSense finish, which features anti-fingerprint properties – an ideal choice for any busy workspace. The client also opted for chrome edging, creating a unique visual effect between the locker doors.

The system operates with a central control panel, where users scan their building entry card against the reader located on the exterior of the lockers or via the free mobile app.

Upon scanning their card or phone, the system automatically assigns a locker to the user according to their access rights. Each time a locker is opened and closed, the system logs this as an “event”, recording the time, date, locker location and name of the user. This data is stored in the system for up to 90 days, providing Facility Managers with valuable insights for tracking locker usage and enabling data-driven decision making.

More than just storage, all locker units are mains powered and feature internal USB charging ports, suitable for mobile phones or tablets.

Additionally, as part this project, we also designed and installed a storage wall system with integrated locker units for extra storage capacity.

The results.

Philip Morris International has transitioned to a more agile way of working, and our Simplicity smart lockers provided the perfect platform to pilot this concept at one of their flagship locations in London.
