The client.
Stratford Cross is an emerging cultural and creative workplace destination in the heart of Stratford, London. With a focus on diversity and sustainability, they strive to create a building that connects employees and delivers workplaces fit for forward-thinking businesses.
The project.
Brown & Carroll asked us to design and install a range of changing room lockers, including accessible lockers as well as bike lockers, creating an inviting and productive workplace that’s inclusive for all.
In the corridor area outside the changing rooms, we supplied Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliant lockers with towel drop cupboards. These lockers feature a unique high plinth so that footplates on wheelchairs could fit underneath, allowing users to get up close to their locker. Plus, the accessible locker doors were sliding, rather than hinged, to further improve the user experience.
These lockers were a mixture of sizes and included internal hanging rail and coat hooks to suit a variety of needs. They were manufactured with laminated, moisture-resistant MDF and equipped with Simplicity+ locks for direct access at the locker doors.
Within the basement changing room areas, we installed lockers with integrated benching, hooks and rails for clothing.
In addition, we also supplied folding bike lockers to ensure that employees have a safe and secure place to store their bicycles during the workday. These were crafted from powder coated galvanised steel.
The results.
This workspace in Stratford Cross is perfect for evolving businesses with talented and diverse workforces. With bespoke DDA compliant lockers and folding bike lockers, employees feel welcomed and motivated by these inspiring and innovative workplace storage solutions.
