Arcadis is one of the world’s leading companies delivering sustainable design, and consultancy solutions or natural and built assets.
With over 27,000 employees in over 70 countries, Arcadis is a solutions provider for pressing challenges that improve quality of life for people all around the world.
Arcadis decided to relocate from their previous location in Kings Cross to a new office at Fenchurch Street, in the heart of the City of London.
The space.
Their new London hub has over 40,800 sq. ft of innovative office space across two floors, and is purpose-built to the needs of its employees.
The move signals a fundamental change in Arcadis’ approach to its office estate, with the emphasis on ways of working increasingly shifting from ‘where’ to ’how’. It comes as part of a global commitment to embrace remote and flexible ways of working.
As such, this new workplace format will provide a blueprint for future offices both in the UK and worldwide.
The project.
Technology sits at the core of this project, with ‘smart’ features embedded as a key design principle. Your Workspace designed, manufactured, and installed over 700 Simplicity Smart Lockers across the two floors at the site.
Simplicity Smart Lockers gave users the flexibility to allow them to thrive in an ‘activity-based’ working environment. The lockers were completed with obround decals in white with black font to contrast with the locker finishes.
We also installed a bespoke Plexus unit to create a collaborative working zone and subtly divide the area.
Our Storage Wall units were manufactured and installed into various locations around the building.
The configurations consisted of different sized cupboards for company assets, and taller cupboard storage for staff to use. All units were fitted with an espagnolette lock for added security.
The Storage Wall units were finished in a mix of light grey, black and pistachio green.
The results.
The new layout and design allowed for better collaboration and versatility amongst the teams.
The introduction of our Simplicity Smart Lockers, in conjunction with other smart technologies gave Arcadis a data driven picture of how their staff use their building.
